The Cash Application Specialist will be responsible for posting daily cash receipts and distributing associated reporting.  The position will also be responsible for managing initial deposits from clients and associated refunds and/or application of the deposit.  Will be assisting with other key accounting functions such as billing, accounts payable, account reconciliations, and journal entries.  The Cash Application Specialist is also involved in supporting the preparation of various financial analyses in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. 

• Prepare and enter daily cash receipts and related cash and AR reports.
• Assists in all aspects of the accounts receivables and accounts payable functions.
• Assist with monthly billing and month end closing responsibilities.
• Responsible for updating information in the company accounting system in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assist with the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing process.
• General accounting support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
• 2+ years’ experience in functional areas of accounting, preferably in a business where project-based accounting is performed.
• Financial reporting, analysis and accounting experience in professional service industry (i.e A/E firms).
• Knowledge of project accounting/percentage completion accounting practices.
• High level of math skills.
• Proficient in Excel and similar accounting/project management system.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Independent and critical thinking abilities.
• Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.
